This makes me sick to the very pit of my stomach… the thought of Bush and Blair sitting safely at home debating what or who to kill next in the name of “democracy”. I doubt this is what the ancient greeks had in mind…
This baby is symbolic of everything that is wrong with the world and the supposed “War On Terror”. This entire chirade was conducted under the illusion of dispelling terrorists and maintaing a healthy democratically elected government in the middle east. If you asked a father whether he would bury his child to secure a healthy bank balance I think we know what his answer would be. Its so easy to sit back behind a big desk on the other side of the world and brush off these incidents as “necessary casualties”… but surely the mother, father, brother, sister in them all knows that this is in its very essence wrong? In every sense of the word…
The death of an adult is a terrible thing in itself, but the death of a child who never had the chance to live its life is just sickening. And then to blame it all on the terrorists? There were no terrorists in Iraq until we got there! If we hadn’t been so fucking selfish this man would still be putting his baby to bed right now, not into a coffin…
