Technically it’s okay, but other than that it’s like information overload. I mean, it just too much. Because of that it doesn’t grab me. It’s not creepy or happy or sad, you just splashed the paint all over the canvas without lookin’ at the colors. There were some good parts, but just when it got interesting it changed again. It didn’t suck, but maybe you should stick with a theme.

Matt, i don’t think this was a mash up, more like a soundscape. If done right, soundscapes are really cool. It can turn an average room in to a fuckin’ nightmare or even make you feel high. And it’s probably the most difficult thing to make as far as audio goes.
Thanks for the criticism. I serious appreciate it when people explain exactly why they don’t like something. The weird thing for me is that there are very few things that I make that give me as much satisfaction as this piece did. It was very very true to my vision and the result made me very happy, almost ecstatic.
Dave, your description of it is true, but I i wouldn’t say that I didn’t look at the colors. I just didn’t look at the canvas.
Btw, did you listen with headphones? If you don’t, you will certainly not get the effect I intended.
Also, I don’t tihnk it was a mash up or a soundscape. I think now I would call it a twelve car pile-up.
Whatever you call it, it’s what’s in my head and therefore it’s what makes everything else.
Madge, I’m not saying I disliked it. Not at all. It was very interesting and enjoyable, I just prefer something a little more concise. That’s just my taste.
I think the only Madge podcast I’ve ever turned off half way through was the “bath party” podcast on Yeast2 where you were silent and it was just sounds of you washing yourself. Sorry, Mary.

Dave, I therefore blame it on desperate housewives. These things will get better. That was just my first shot at mixing on the computer instead of analogue.
Matt, I think the deathcab guy thing bust be personal taste also. I just love his voice; it feels just hot and unaltered. As far as the bath thing goes, I couldn’t listen to that either.
Madge, keep up the good work. Though some may not “get it” you’re stretching out your lesbian wings doing “train wreck” sound layer podcasts. Keep taking chances, that’s why you have listeners.
Blame it on Desperate Housewives AND Gilmore Girls. I’m sure these things will get better. But what’s more important is that the result made you happy and that you enjoy making ‘em. And i will enjoy posting some honest feedback. You may not always like them, but i don’t post comments to get in to your wheel house.
