Madge took the pilgrimage to Bitcoin Beach, also known as El Zonte, El Salvador and met some of the people who started the amazing thing that’s happening here. El Salvador recently became the first country to make Bitcoin legal tender. The story of how this happened is fascinating, and my guest Roman Martinez (Chimbera) is here to tell it. After Roman tells his story, you’ll take a soundseeing walk with me back to my hotel on Bitcoin Beach. I forgot to get a picture of Roman and myself to use as album art so instead, I offer a pic of a tiny papusa stand that accepted Bitcoin. I payed $3.5 using lightning network to pay for five papusas. They were delicious! More on El Zonte to come in upcoming grums.

I know very little about bitcoin, but seeing how it is empowering for at least some people in El Salvador is very interesting. So thanks for the interview, Madge. You asked some good questions.
I like the soundseeing too, Mayudje. Hope Bitcoin Beach is something truly revolutionary for El Salvador and the world. It it becomes a fancy resort playground for crypto-douches, it’s a fail.
This is cool but lacks a certain sense of Yeast. Hopefully you were able to leave your stink on the situation!
