Final MP3 file shouldn’t go above 128kbps joint stereo, 44.1khz, 16 bit. Anything above that in terms of kbps is overkill. Higher bit depth and/or frequency will likely cause playback trouble somewhere, since there’s so many apps/platforms where people consume podcasts. Some will handle files encoded differently OK and others won’t.
