The choir has been drowned out.
The extremely scary thing, as evident by the clip you played the other day, if ordinary people had to take part in an execution they’d still feel as though they were doing the right thing. It’s disgusting. It doesn’t matter until it hits close to home.
There are days I want out of this stupid place. But then I wonder how long it would be before I saw a blade of brown grass.
I agree with Andy. We the choir, through podcasting, are continually singing louder and louder, however the mainstream media is using it’s power to drown us out. The saddest thing is that now the “future” of America, which is the children, will grow up in a society where pop culture “news” and Entertainment “news” are considered actual news. Kudos to you Madge for making this great show, I really liked this episode. Since the choir is continually drowned out I believe it should start recruiting and get bigger than mainstream media. Maybe we’ll be able to salvage some good for this country.
20/20 has a big exposé on plastic surgery on right now, while Nightline — once the pinnacle of sophistication in television journalism when Koppel was at the helm — has lead-ins on “Potter Fever” and Perez Hilton tonight.
In anything other than healthcare, I’m sure the US would never shy away from attempting to provide the best, fastest, most affordable, etc.
Oh, on the cigarette tax issue – in the UK, tax on cigarettes raises £17bn, the cost of smoking-related illness to the health service is £12bn and exactly what moral platform does a smoker have to complain about this? None.
I’m wasting my keystrokes here, I know. Bush’s arguments aren’t based on anything factual and are actually really stupid.
What amazes me is how anyone in a position of political power can be bought off by the healthcare corporations. For any politician to be in that position is surely an unacceptable conflict of interest. Same goes for Iraq war and Halliburton. It’s called corruption.
Loved this show. Very good.

Great rant, even better cartoon to match the song.
Madge I left you an email, and I hope you get it … but in case you don’t here is what I said:
I have been following up on your story of the Toxic G5. I realize you have written a letter to Steve Jobs and the Better Business Bureau.
I am not sure of what other steps you have taken.
My roomie USED TO work for Apple and I explained to him in detail what your issue is. He says you HAVE to do the following in order to get this resolved!
1) You have to call Apple Care DIRECTLY and go around the Apple store.
2) Ask to talk to an Apple Care representative DIRECTLY and explain to them what happened and that YOU KNOW this is a KNOWN ISSUE.
You have to phrase it like that!!!
3)And I know this is a kick in the cunt …. but you HAVE TO BE NICE, REALLY NICE!!!!!!
In this case .. you should get a CASE NUMBER and then you can bring the machine to the store, tell them to FUCK OFF and give them the case number.
This should solve the issue for you free of charge … I Hope!
I will leave this in your comments area as well! Please let me know when you get this email and if it works for you!
Hugs and Kisses always … and oh yeah .. FUCK YOU CUNT! 😉 (just kidding)
nice show intresting stuff i’m really glad your still doing news and politics
but know what i belive? i belive i can fly lol if you get what i mean 😛
I’d only got halfway through when I posted my last comment. I now cannot believe (or rather, all too painfully can) that Bush is effectively attempting to put himself, the administration and surely any administrations that follow above scrutiny and the law.
It seems that can still be challenged in court, so there’s still hope – it looks like the same thing attempted in 1984 by Reagan’s administration didn’t quite make it that far, but I could be wrong.
The thing about King George III was that he was as mad as a box of frogs. Also, he was called George as was his father. Seems history is repeating.
Love the Superman pic and song by Mr Z.
Great show, even though you went out of character (like it matters though). Are the pop culture/Paula Abdul rants a dig at Ragan?
Not at all… There are thousands of people obsessed with pop culture. Ragan’s doesn’t bother me because he is able to frame it in a political cunttext.
Oh good.
HEY, WHERE ARE THE GODADDY CODES
when i need them? you sleazy cunt!
do they still work? let us know. please.
-me
-dammittt.
But Madge, people care about Paula Abdul because they also care about prolapses, farts, and other such joys in life.
If one cannot spend a little bit of time with senseless pleasures one might find life kinda boring.
You make good points though, and I agree with you. The Earth IS an organism, the UNIVERSE is an organism, and while I find LIFE wonderful and exciting and a gift, I find humans to be disgusting.

Great show. One of the best in a while.
Your comment near the end of the show about nobody here really being liberal reminded me of the Phil Ochs song “Love Me, I’m A Liberal.”

Great Show! It is good to see that you actually played something other than a puccini or wagner.
