Workaholics, etc: Americans are still recovering from residual puritanism. I don’t know if we’ll ever fully recover. Europe was right to get rid of them, but those people founded our country needed to tighten their hat buckles just a little more. Workaholics, ultra-conservatives, fire-and-brimstone religious nutjobs, most of this can be traced to the damn pilgrims and other European rejects.

Edith Massey: love her. But don’t you think that somebody was standing just off-stage with cue cards?

  I think that both Cheryl and Richard are talented enough to make something good even if the characters are changed. I love Madge but if you get to know Richard, you’ll find out Madge is only a small part of Richard. I can only imagine what is behind the Cheryl.
