The Gay Expat says that Ragan is attacking Puffy via Cheryl.

Gay Expat says that the common denominator in various podcasting controversies is Ragan.

Ragan says that the Fausto/Mark and Curry controversies are not related to his argument with Puffy.

Ragan was the last one to get on the “kick out Fausto and Mark” bandwagon.

Ragan tells the Gay Expat to shut his hole.

Ragan says that his argument with Puffy is between him and Puffy and it’s no one else’s business.

I won’t take a side in the matter.

I think that both Ragan and Puffy would benefit from seeing each others’ point of view.

Ragan says that listeners are always jumping on their soapboxes.

I think Ragan should wait a couple weeks and then talk to Puffy.

Jesus christ, this is all so fucking juvenille. Ragan/Slocome/Puffy/everyone involved – you all need to get over it, kiss and make up. This fight is stupid, cliquey, repetitive and dull. Like a wise dead woman once said – it’s the Internet and we can’t take anything seriously. On all sides vicious things were said but there are bigger battles to fight.

Richard, I guess I’m glad your listening audience has doubled but it’s really hurtful and offensive how you constantly tell your old loyal fans to go fuck themselves and you shit all over everyone and now it seems your pandering to the prudish, self-absorbed, faux-liberal assholes with waist cancer who bitched about you anonymously on forums for the past two years. If you’re doing the safe, inoffensive, ordinary gay guy act now, could you at least stop being such a fucking cunt to your old cult following just because you’re (understandably) a little bitter and defensive about the backlash. The Gay Expat

1) You didn’t read it all, Ragan, which started a chain of misinterpretations. Richards confusion as to the part you didn’t read speaks to that.

2) Poor Ragan. My heart bleeds. You let your mouth rip, you’ve got to be responsible for it. This is why on certain topics I just keep my mouth shut until it means something more than my insighificant opinion and it’s worth the trouble to cause shit.

3) In this case, it meant something and was worth causing shit. I have a profound sense of fair play, and I did take Puffy to task for his part in the matter. I posted the comment because Puffy and others have been coming to me about this shit for a LONG time (months!) and I was tired of people withholding communications, including myself. I am NOT taking sides here, either, but I has opinions on Ragan’s actions LONG before this Puffy vs. Ragan thing came to the fore. This is why I went to Richard the first time, and this is why I made the comments I made today.

4) Richard, you’re a total fucking asshole for drawing conclusions that aren’t necessarily true. But I’ll stick to my principles and be responsible for the impression I gave that I’m some sort of flame war addict. I’m more addicted to watching these train wrecks than participating in them, and have indeed shown you some of the places on the net in which I do that. If I was that into starting shit like that, the tone of my show and videos would be COMPLETLEY different. However, you have NEVER seen me pull that childish bullshit in any of my conversations. I know my activities elsewhere dwell close to what you said and am clearly understanding of how you could draw that conclusion, but it’s just not true. Your attempt to marginalize me was a dud.

5) I apologize for any feelings hurt in all of this. I did my best to speak to the behaviors and not being insulting. The bully and coward thing was a bit overdramatic, and I retract it.

I just need to get one little self-indulgent, selfish FUCK YOU before I close this subject forever. Now I’ll go smoke and be completely responsible for it by paying my increased health insurance premiums.

I’ve worked through my phases of grieving for Madge (denial, doubt and anger and all that other BS) Madge had her day in the sun, maybe even two…. mostly… but is there anywhere we can download Mr Zeechies songs about Madge… couldn’t find them on E-music or on the internets(s) …. Please Its all we have to remember her by… I understand about why and where things are going with the show and lets face it , people can be a bunch of ungrateful mutherfuckers. I’m sure that Richard will find his new voice. I personally would like to see a yeastradio turn into more of a watch on politics and the god damn crazy laws the government is passing.   I’m workshopping the show right now. I have no idea where it is going. Ragan is a friend at a very deep level. His humour is deeply funny. I will continue to have him on my show from time to time and if shitty drama is the only thing going on then that’s what we will talk about. My show is hit or miss. Deal with it. Sure, it’s unfair for Expat to get into the middle of your argument with Puffy. But at the same time, it’s unfair to fault us listeners for voicing opinions (uninformed as they might be) about what you put out for public consumption. Yeah, it sucks that “Cheryl” attacks people unprovoked. I’ve told Puffy as much myself. But you also talked about all of this on Eat This Hot Show and now Yeast. I guess this is all a part of the line between persona/non-persona and show vs. non-show that Richard brought up.

And regarding Eat This Hot Show, I don’t really listen to it for the drama. Granted, I did eat up the whole Mark & Fausto controversy because it was really juicy and tabloid-ish. But I REALLY listen to Eat This Hot Show week after week for the same reasons that you like doing it: I love the chemistry between you and Richard and Wanda. I also love listening to your guys’ opinions on current events. I also used to really look forward to finding out which podcaster was going to be guest-hosting on the show. It was really fun to hear some of my other favorite podcasters interacting with you three. But lately you all haven’t been having guests and when you do have guests, you all don’t do a very good job of including them in the discussion.

Richard, I am thrilled that you decided to put Madge to rest. I don’t know you personally but I can see how maintaining that character could become invasive to your own personality in a pathological way. I will say that for me, hearing you is so refreshing and I am loving it. One of my favorite podcasts of yours from the past was when you addressed the Adam Curry flame war on insane films as richard and not as madge. I found your candor so welcoming and I was thinking then that you were better as yourself than as madge. I applaud your decision.

As for this whole ETHS thing. I think you took a very zen-like and mature approach with Ragan on the phone. This isn’t your problem anymore and I appreciate your willingness to say “this is old, lets get over it.” Someone made a comment earlier that this discussion is so tired and cliquey and I have to agree wholeheartedly. There are more topics, both banal and urgent, to speak about on ETHS and on your podcast than this one. Furthermore I find it utterly absurd that Ragan was calling you to discuss this. I understand him wanting your support as a friend but, from my point of view, his language is one of a prosecutor leading a witness into making statements they don’t believe in. I don’t understand why Ragan is even keeping score of all the things that are said of him. I’ve had my fair share of verbal abuse from childhood even to the present and I just say “water off a duck’s back.” It must be really tiresome keeping score of all the bad things said about you over the course of six months, I don’t know where Ragan gets the energy to do it.

i actually found this show very interesting and entertaining and was almost dissapointed when it was over. i really like the free-flowing discussion, no matter how insignificant the subject may be. personally i dont care who said what or why and when and how many times, i just think it’s a fascinating conversation to listen to. it’s a perfect example of why i like podcasting as a medium.

I am hesitant to join in here, but would like to do so if only to voice my own part in all of this.

It is no secret that I have spouted more than my fair share of shit about Ragan, both as myself and as Ali Mahajani, and have been rightfully called out on it by him.

After my last discussion with Ragan, I came to realize that I am not okay with treating another person the way that I have treated him. In many ways, I think that my vigor in ridiculing him, especilly as Ali stemmed from a desire to be one of the “cool kids.” After some time of being regarded as “too nice” and “boring” (to quote Madge/Richard) it was fun to be a part of what I now see as a subculture that only served to further divide the gay community, especially in the realm of podcasting.

I think all of us are concerned with our collective rights as GLBT people, in order to move forward, we need to find a way to unify ourselves rather than continue this pettiness. Ragan is an artist and a human being, whether or not I appreciate his work or agree with what he has to say, he deserves to be treated as such.

Kumbaya, fuckers.

As you know, when I had the opportunity to either interview you or Madge, I chose you. I love the Madge but since I found out who you were (about a year ago) I have found you to be an even more interesting person. I think being Madge you had an opportunity to say things Richard was sometimes too polite to say and it will be interesting to see how balancing this out in real life comes about.

Nonetheless, I’m still a fan and still a friend – that hasn’t changed. And, my son is now old enough to understand “Mr. Bluestein” as well as “Madge Weinstein”. Keep up the nice work, man.

Not that I want to continue to hear about this, considering the whole debate stared on ETHS with Richard’s decision to kill Madge and somehow turned into a Cheryl v. Ragan, but, by allowing Ragan time to express his thoughts, it’s kind of one-sided. Please remember, most Americans won’t take the time to read the Gay Expat’s comments or Ragan’s responses. How else do you explain 8 years of Prince George W. Bush?

Perhaps all of this is part of the mourning phase for Madge.

However, I still love the show. Great move Richard.

So I finally got to hear this episode that people have been talking about. And I don’t get the big deal. It was just a podcast where a friend called a friend who happened to be recording a podcast at the time. I believe that Ragan was talking to Richard as a friend about what he is going through. This is a part of their lives which they have given us a privilege to listen to and be a part of. Not every thing is going to be all fun and a bed of roses. Even roses have thorns and some times we get pricked by them. And it fucking hurts. Words hurt. Especially when they are stabbing at you as a person, as a human being.

There was a time when bigots were constantly leaving hateful comments on my blog and attacking my character because I am gay. It totally stressed me out. And sure it’s easy to say that person is a dumb-ass and I should not care about it. But the fact is it did hurt me. We can not always control how we feel.

I was so frustrated that I posted a comment on EatBird for some support to get this asshole off my site. And the only person from the comment section that backed me up was Ragan Fox and Rachel Kann. Ragan posted a comment saying that guy “…was a waste of skin!” and the waste of skin stopped harassing me. Thank you Ragan and Rachel for your support for me at that time.

Well I’m not coming back to this comment section. So don’t bother replying here. There are a bunch of ugly chains of intension here.
