Podcasting pioneer and noted philanthropist Madge Weinstein of Podshow and Yeast Radio fame is in critical condition in a Guadalajara hospital following a botched combined liposuction and gastric bypass operation. Arguably fat, but not clinically obese, the outspoken shock jock was forced to head south of the border in quest of less ethically committed medical professionals to perform the risky surgery. While the situation is certainly grave, Weinstein seemingly intends to extend her philanthropic legacy beyond her time on this mortal coil. Her already prepared will provides for her usual pet causes of breast cancer and chronic female problems but makes unusual bequest to one of her radio peers.
The faltering radio starlet rasped from her hospital bed, “To my esteemed colleague Rush Limbaugh I leave six unfilled prescriptions for painkillers and all that fat they just sucked out of my ass!” She lapsed back into unconsciousness before confirming rumours that she was donating her vagina to Dr. Laura.
While fans and friends worldwide are praying for her recovery, Podshow and Yeast Radio will soldier on. Richard Bluestein will be sitting in the host’s chair for the foreseeable future. Bluestein is philosophical, “While it is hard to imagine a world without Madge, it is impossible to even consider a world without Yeast”. Tune into Yeast Radio—-https://www.yeastradio.com and http://podshow.com for other fun podcasts.

Ha! Madge is alive and posting!
Dumbass. Nowhere does this say Madge is dead.
Dumbass yourself. Nor did I say Madge is dead. I just said that she’s alive and posting. Dumbass.
wtf madge.
So fucked up.
is a memorial scholarship fund in order?
I just listened to ETHS, where Richard explained the whole thing.
My 2 cents:
I am straight. The reason I first started listening in Dec of 2004 regularly was because of the humor. I simply had not laughed out loud at something like that (on TV, movies, radio) in such a long time that I became totally obsessed.
I told all my friends who gave me strange looks when I told them my newest obsession was a bloated lesbian, but they eventually agreed once they heard the show that it was something unique.
Back then, I too was a little taken aback by the misogyny — an accusation Madge vehemently denied in the early days, I might add.
But I got past that, and soon she began ranting and raving about politics, injustice and bigotry. I was already on the same page with her about Bush being a psychopathic killer, but she really did open my eyes (while keeping me entertained at the same time) about the gay community.
As I said, I am a straight white guy (albeit an expat with a perhaps broader perspective because of where I live than most Americunts). However, I never really was exposed to “the gay community,” I had no idea what a bath house was or had ever heard a bunch of homosexuals talking amongst themselves as if no one else were there. It was enlightening to say the least. Also, it took away prejudices that I think were probably there (although, as a politically correct, registered Independent, living in a social democracy would never admit to).
The fact is, I became more at ease with my own homophobes (what little they might have been in the first place), and I think that is one of the main things Madge’s purpose has served. Madge’s insane rants — about everything and anything from a poo stuck in her mangina to the iTunes not working to the prisoners at Guantanamo to the fucking idiot Americans who voted for Bush again to gay bashing to her obsession with prolapse — made (makes) people see their own ridiculousness.
And it does it all in the guise of comedy. That’s where the power is.
I won’t say I haven’t occasionally tired of Madge’s schtick sometimes. As she said in the early days, “it’s not easy being a lesbian,” and I’m sure the catch phrases have probably affected her mind permanently, I know they have affected mine.
I know I would miss Madge for a week or two, then go on with my life, this is not the point. I don’t want Madge to do this for me, necessarily.
But if this podcast turns into another milktoast, politically correct bland diatribe of a “regular” guy (like the thousands out there already), it will be a serious disservice to the uninitiated.
Madge, if your time in prolapsed heaven is calling, then so be it… I will miss you. Richard, if you’re willing to take the helm in her place, make sure you keep at least some of that edge in there (perhaps outsource to India?)…
I think most non-idiots can tell the difference between the misogyny of a ranting “lesbian” and the misogyny of a wife-beating bastard. Your voice, Madge, does hold water… Even if your bladder doesn’t.
Considering Madge’s outrageous lifestyle i’m not at all surprised about this. And MY thought are with the nurses at Guadalajara hospital.
If Richard does indeed decide to kill Madge we will have no choice, but to stick to his decision. I love Yeast Radio and the decision of its great creater that has touched us either in his reality or the fiction that is Madge. If you love Madge Weinstein you must love Richard Bluestein, they come in a package. Richard, I, and probably many other fans, stand by your decision because your opinions have carried us a long way, as a 14 yr. old gay kid in a homophobic city, you have allowed me to hear the gay opinion on things and have taught me politics the mainstream media won’t even touch. Like you said in one of your recent shows, “To some people Madge was real.” And I am proud to say I am in that group, I am proud to say I Love Yeast Radio and believe in everything it stands for no matter who the speaker is the message will always be the same. For that, I thank you.
Amen to that, Gus.
I discovered Madge by typing fuck in the odeo search bar and found Madge and podcasting, Richard started it all as far as I’m concerned. I just find it sad that podcast directories are full of commercial crap nowadays whatever Richard does he takes with him loyal fans including me.
It’s funny how I found Madge. I was looking thru the podcasts on iTunes and I found the Feast of Fools. So I went to Wikipedia and looked up Fausto Fernos. I got no result for that, but it gave me Ragan Fox under the search. So I read about Ragan and decided to subscribe to Fox and the City. After listening to Fox and the City I soon started listening to Eat This Hot Show! I discovered Madge thru Eat This Hot Show! and I liked where she stood so I soon subscribed to Yeast Radio and the rest is history. I never imagined my greatest obsession would be on a fat angry bloated Jewish lesbian. None of my friends listen to Yeast Radio or even know wat a podcast is for that matter, but because of me they have grown to love Madge and the things she says. So as long as the memory of Madge is alive, she can’t die. She will live on forever and I hope she outlives us all. WE LOVE YOU MADGE!
Aw, I never got to eat her pussy out. Oh well….
My two cents is that I haven’t made it thru a Richard show yet. I’ll keep trying, but you need to pick it up.
Get fucked.
Oh my!!! Madge is back! So glad to see you madge, honey!
After finding Madge and podcasting in Dec 2004 I had the cable box disconnected after a couple of months. I realised that I had watch TV for like ever and rarely got the whole truth about the world.
I don’t care anymore Richard or Madge, I’m they both have the same political affiliation and taste in music. More Biggie Smalls please! Hip Hop has the rough edge that they both have in their personalities.
I admit, I can’t wait for Richard to go off on a rant as truely himself. (When your good and ready!)
i liked madge fat. 🙁
Richard: If you speak to Madge, give her my love.
RIchard, you have my full support.
I don’t know what to say. This is my first time communicating with Madge/Richard. For me, over the last 18 months, Madge was real. She was apart of my daily routine. As a European, Madge has opened my eyes on alot of US issues, which would otherwise have gone un-noticed. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried. I’ve felt her love and anger at times.
Due to commitments, I’ve only learned of this today whilst out taking my lunch hour walk along a canal in Dublin. I cried. Yes a grown man of 26, crying along a leafy canal bank, hearing the loss of Madge.
Should I be surprised, no, the signs have been there. Madge I will miss you, Richard, please move on but be respectful to my and your listeners memories. We’ve only known Madge, it’s what brought us to your show/your voice. Thank you Richard for sharing her with us.
I’m in shock.
