I got really pissed off at the reaction to the faggot furore, because it meant the actual issue was not discussed. Instead, we had all this smoke and mirrors, comments out of the “blue” :-), etc.
Since then, there has been some excellent discussion going on, but it seems to be all back within the realm of qPodders again.
John Ong put the real point so well in hislatest show: “it wasn’t the word ‘faggot’ that was offensive, but the way the word was used”.
Anyway, from what you’re saying, Madge, this has only just begun. The discussion is going to happen whether anyone likes it or not, not just as something in the podosphere (although that is a great place to start) but in general. I really hope so.
