Ok, I have been thinking about this since my last post. Its not the soldiers, well, it is, but, they are being TOLD what to do, the people who are telling them what to do, I really hope they go to jail, for a LONG time!

Another thought, the video is from 2002. I’m not sure what the dates on the other videos were, so, I just wonder, and I shudder when I do, what is happening now.
Don’t you think their basic training includes learning to hate the enemy so it’s easier to kill them? I don’t blame the troops, most of ’em are just kids who are under a lot of pressure. This happens in every war.

I know, I probably shouldn’t because the person might get mad, but, oh well, they need to realize they are wrong. BUT, earlier today I was talking to a friend and they saw my blog, when they did they told me that I needed to stop going on so much about the war, that they were sick of hearing about it, that no one cared about the war. *sighs* I am sick at my stomach right now. I just can’t stand it when someone says those type of things, people are fucking dying!!!!! DYING!!!! BEING MELTED!!!!! As Madge says, WAKE THE FUCK UP! WAKE THE FUCK UP! WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!! One thing about a volunteer army is that you get a majority of people who fancy guns and to a lesser extent killing. So this type of behavior is tolerated and even encouraged by the hypermasculine drill seargents and commanders.

the prevalence of recording media devices around these days is changing war and people’s realisation of it. More power to the people!
at my place of work I saw many video feeds that could never be shown on tv, from the war in iraq – even down to bush getting his hair done before letting the rest of the world know he’d started a war. bizarre.
Why couldn’t they be shown on TV?
Think of the women and children Madge. No, really, its because they don’t want to upset anyone…which is what they should be doing!!!!! But they won’t, they don’t want to offend anyone. Its all about ratings! Thats it, thats all it is about.
You’d think their ratings would go up because they showed it, however, the majority of people watching the (local) news have been feed so much shit, when they see something like this shedding light of the bad things WE are doing…they think the news agencies are going against the US…ok, I hope that made sense. If it didn’t, ream me a new one I guess.
The media is too busy focusing on compelling issues such as the mystery of Nick and Jessica’s breakup and whether Angelina gets fucked up the arse with Brad’s dildo.
I am seeing a lot of these videos popping up of everywhere, all at once. It is all truly sickening. Better to have evidence of these war crimes, still, odd that so much of this is appearing all over the place at once it seems (to me) when it this has certainly been happening for a long time now.

I am anti war. Don’t get me wrong… I work in the media and see endless hours of unedited material of the victims of these types of bombings.
Its not the blood, gore and dead bodies that disturb me as much as the weeping of the survivors. They don’t show that on US TV at all.
I’m not trying to be rude, but, if you work for the media, explain to us why the media will not show what is going on.
I work in the Finnish media actually. How often are you tuning in to us?
PBS and NPR are YOURS, by the way… Why not do something yourself instead of bitching about what aint being done by others?

This blogging stuff is a step in the right direction, as is trying to contact the mainstream media with these links and films. But it can’t stop there… It can’t just stop after you’ve fired off a few nasty BB notes and start to feel a little better.
I don’t live in the US anymore, and don’t have the daily access to the US media that you have.
I know I can talk big being 5,000 miles away from the shores of my home country, but WHAT THE FUCK happened this Thanksgiving at Camp Casey??? Only a few DOZEN people showed up there??? Did the “anti war movement” just fizzle out to go buy stuffing and pepto bismol?

To answer your question, I think the media doesn’t cover these stories for two reasons: one, they are afraid of losing access to the Administration if they become too overtly critical; two, I think the public actually WANTS to be in denial about what is going on… How else could most of them who drive alone to work in their SUV live with themselves. Three, I think there has been a real lack of direction for America since the end of WWII….
Capitalism is based on growth. Constant growth… In this day and age you need a goal and a mission… a few decades ago it was to crush communism…. then America was THE SuperPower! What then? The media talked of blowjobs and cigars. The economy was super, the internet bubble had burst, but there was money to be made somewhere.. somewhere… whereereererer.—??????
