I’m trying to understand your point of view Madge. Is it not so much that you hate this President, but that you hate our form of government? Huey Long was incredibly corrupt, but even with that aside the vision of his followers went essentially beyond socialism and into communism. If you believe in this as the best way to govern a country, I can see why you have such contempt. There isn’t much middle ground for us I’m afraid.
BTW, do you have a reference to show that Bush was actually playing golf the day after he flew over LA? I would find that hard to defend, but even harder to believe. I would like to know if it is true.

I had to study Long at great length, watched historical video and audio interviews with people who were part of all that. I’m pretty clear on who and what he was. He was a pretty corrupt guy and definitely liked the benefits of wealth – very full of himself. What I am saying here is that, if you subscribe to what his more sincere followers envisioned, there isn’t much middle ground for us – it’s heavy on communism.

Oh how wrong you are! I’ve got serious problems with some of Bush’s policies and priorities, but he isn’t evil. I just don’t care to listen to pundit crap from either side. You have to admit, Dailykos.com is no better than Shaun Hannity or Ann Coulter – just a different flavor. It’s boring.

Bush is a sociopath who puts on his “aw shucks” mannerisms when it’s time to pander for votes, then turns around and uses perfect English when it’s time to talk about killing. He’s also been visibly and uncomfortably inept during any press conferences on Katrina (when WILL McClellan learn not to put him in front of a camera during a REAL crisis?), and has proved that he is incapable of leadership when the chips are really down and action is required that doesn’t involve signing a check, throwing a barbecue, or sending others’ kids off to die.
If that’s not evil, then at the very least it’s fucking creepy…
