Here’s the story from the beginning. Now that I’m home, I’m going to (attempt) to tell the story in chronological order. So first, today, I read for you a moving letter from Cindy Sheehan followed by the very beginning of our trip: A cap ride to O’Hare at 6:30 AM on Friday.

I’ve been out of the country not connecting to news for the last couple of weeks. This was my first in depth media about this happening. Thanks.
Madge, Firstly can I tell you your show is great, even though sometimes you make emotive comments about things in the press without checking truth – but you are very good at making people very aware that you are passing an opinion about what you know (especially in the case of Iran/Iraq and what the political situation is there – On one issue I cannot believe those two boys were actually hung, but you have to have faith in what you are told I guess!!!)….now, on Cindy Sheehan. You are an inspiration to have actually have joined her. Until these last few days I hadn’t even heard of her. I can tell you that in no UK paper (I am in London, UK by the way)has there been any reporting of her or what has been happening outside the presidents ranch. And I find that fact to be absolutely amazing. The only place you hear anything is on the ‘free’ internet and in the ‘free’ podcasts….thank you for getting this story to me. Wayne
Hi Madge,
Thanks to you, Fausto and Patricia for going to Crawford and giving us some insight into what is really taking place. I wanted to let you know it has lead me to make more of an effort to express my own discontent for the war and this administration. While I always consider myself pretty informed via news-sites, blogs, and podcasts, I have tuned out at times. I understand what you were feeling in the podcast from a few days ago, the total exhausting from just dealing, thinking and hearing about something that seems horrible and insurmountable. That’s how I generally feel after listening to Democracy Now, completely frustrated and depressed. Thankfully, activities like the one taking place in Crawford have made me feel like perhaps there is a chance, that there are significant amounts of people out there willing to do something and to inspire others as well. I am going to attend the Operation Ceasefire http://www.opceasefire.org/ in DC on Sept. 24th, a series of other pro-peace events surrounding this as well. I don’t think I would have decided to go had you not helped spread the word of those most effected by the war and also showed the necessity of action through your own.
Thank you again for the entertainment and the information. This podcast really is such a great example of how this medium can be powerful and in so many ways.
