Great interview…very thoughtful and honest. This is the first time I’ve ever heard Mikeypod’s show, and I found it very enjoyable. I was sorry to hear about your friend who felt she had to pull her support because of her other fascist friend. I can understand being in a tight position, but that’s what happens to too many good people–we end up being cowed by someone who holds something over our heads. I applaud you for not doing that.
I’m amazed that all the far-righties continue to accuse us of not being fact-based, when in reality, it’s THEY who can’t support their views with facts. Like Ann Coulturd, they seem to think they’ll use a few blistering analogies, a few mean putdowns, and we’ll be cast down into an everlasting pit of chagrin, and just dry up. How angry they must be that it’s stopped working! And how it shows in their attitude. Thanks for helping us to process all the “crap” and put it into perspective. People can accuse us of being biased if they wish (of course we are! Everyone is, including them), but like minds seek out like minds, and I’m glad we’ve found so many articulate and direct voices like yourself, Amy Goodman, and P.W. Fenton to remind us that the “good guys aren’t gone yet.”
Hey, thanks for listening to the show, and thanks for the plug, Madge!
