I just got my Sirius Radio turday.
Ironically, the first song that played when I got activated was Amy Grant, but I quickly discovered two AMAZING channels:
Area63
and
Faction
Wow! Sorry but their programming puts most of the music shows I’ve heard in the podosphere to shame. This is NOT the radio we are accustomed to here in the U.S.
You probably think I’m just plugging Sirius, but there is no requirement for me to do so. I actually had deleted this post and re-entered it because I thought people would think I’m sellling out.
Well- let me tell you something: Selling out is what I’ve been doing for the past 15 years of my career, doing bullshit that deep down I didn’t want to do. Right now I’m BUYING BACK!
Thanks, Jeremy!

Hey Maaadge,
I had a proper, important exam on Media today, and guess who I chose to talk about? You! In a massive essay, I said how podcasting was the very newest of the new media.
And the exam was about iPods and Apple’s loyal user base! Thanks to you and those other blogs of your friends for helping me to answer those!
Selling out would be, for you, waiting tables or something. If you like a product by somebody with whom you are affiliated, that’s something to talk about. If you don’t, then damning with faint praise is always an elegant solution. I think it is natural to expect that you might be paying more attention to Sirius’s programming than, say, XM’s; we can’t be authorities on everything. Only so many hours in a day. I listen to and talk about my friends and partners. This is a crime? My friends come first, naturally.
Get it, girl! 😉
We SO desperately need diverse voices in this desert that passes for pop culture (“but who PASSES it,” I hear you all asking? “And did they wipe afterwards?”) 😉 Selling out?! Hardly! Coming into your own, is more like it…
You’re one of the most dynamic voices out there right now that speaks to and for us…anytime you need us, let us know, and we’ll raise our voices with yours in a heavenly gospel choir! 😉
(Are you plotzing yet?)
