Fun rants in turday’s show, followed by a train wreck. Madge discusses hospital ass stink, carrot cake, pagans, and famous lesbian authors. Madge is tired and is not sure how this show came out but needs to put herself to bed straight away.
Thanks again to Dave Calderbank and the lovely Girlontech for the song!

You are getting back to your original style of podcasting, Madge; not that I didn’t like your skype calls…

Agreed. I’m only 8 minutes into today’s show and so far it’s full of energy and your best yet. You’ve got it Madge, you’ve got it!
Now eat my ass, you wannabe lez!
Really good. What you talked about on companies developing more power than elected institutions remembered me of my most favorite book: “He, She, and It”, by Marge Piercy. You should put this into your amazon list, for it is about old jewish lesbians, and how everything could possibly get worse.
Anyway, I think the question about doing something for the community or for oneself is very crucial. Whenever somebody neclects the individual for a “greater good”, you know you are in deep shit. Communism, capitalism, whatever! Though thinking only about oneself will not do any good either. So it is the ultimate challenge ofr a society, and for every individual, to derive common needs from the individual interests. And to reach compromises with one’s own and other people’s interests.
Now that I wrote that, it looks convoluted. But anyway. Just try to argue against!
fun show, loved the chauncey stuff, please attach a wireless lav mic to Chauncey tomorrow and let Chancey have a day in the limelight, he/she will be the first animal to podcast, I love that dog more than i love my mother, what color are his/her dog eyes ?
Cumments like these create the fruit of my womb.
Great show today Madge. I particularly liked the spots where you reflected on how capitalism wasn’t supposed to produce the exhaulted idiot leader of the type we see in this Bush thing you have in the white house there. I’ve long seen American’s strongest champions of capitalism to be communists at heart, namely because Amercians seem to be very tolerant and happy to accept protectionist trade policies that crush other markets, run up as close to monopolies as they can and even use force to strengthen the postion of American companies abroad. America, which is actually a hemisphere but leave it to a culture of gluttony to assume the name of half the world applies just to them (we have something similar in Canada but we call them Torontonians), is very much a commie state in the Rand sense, as they talk a good line about free enterprise and then turn around to cry to government or whoever they can to get an unfair advantage.
Keep up the great podcast; I’ll be adding today’s show to my best of madge collection if that’s ok with you.
Madge, I told ya: people like to hear you rant about politics. As long as it relates to your vagina somehow.
Glad to see you’re doing better, Madge!
That was almost normal.
Today’s show is why I endure so much of the opera on other days : ) Don’t smack me.
I think one of the problems is that people think we have a capitalist society. We don’t. We have a corporatist socitey. You touched on that a bit. Compainies and politcians are in bed together. The corporations tell us what to buy and the polictians tell us how to feel. Stir, and you’ve got a monoculture. That is why neocons have become so powerful; they have really brought both sides together. Its when marketing agencies and politcal campaigns combine that we’re fucked. Which I think we are already.
It looks like a segment of the “gentle audience”
is Ayn Rynd style libertarians from reading the comments. Where is the closest thing to a libertarian-style politico-economic in the world today? At least libertarians like John Stossel (20/20), PJ O’ Rourke and others are CONSISTENT in their ideology—REPUBLICANS on the other hand are for the capitalist state and big government serving the rich and the “free market” for the working masses. If they’re against BIG GOVERNMENT so much why the heck do they spend over $400 billion on the biggest imperialist military empire in the history of the world?
All for now, I need to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Why do most people not realize how things work? We are not trapped in this society. Rules were invented by us, they are not absolute.
