Don’t you just love when independently wealthly ex-hippies preach that podcasters should not be too commercial? Please! It’s OK for a CEO to make 100million a year to extort labor from Chinese peasants, but I can’t make a penny for making a few people laugh? I’m so sick of the attidue that artists should work for free. If artists have to work for free, then so should CEO’s, accountants, and marketing vultures.

Isn’t THAT the truth, Madge. That’s Madge- telling it like it is!
What I’m noticing is assumption by some that “Podcasting” (just another way to communicate) should have some rules applied to it, such as “you can only do reality” or the like. I know people will choose whatever means of communication they wish to. It’s human nature. And there’s enough space in the Podcastosphere for everyone to do their own thing. That’s what my hippie friend, Florie Fischer says all the time.

Dave Whiner is a douchenozzle.

Maybe if this guy was not such an asshole Wired would give him the credit he thinks he deserves.

I would challenge anyone to define the “law of the land” for podcasting.

Dave Winer squeals because he invented enclosures in 2001. Boo Hoo!. And he’s not getting enough credit.

but folks, dave is the brains behind all this shit.. i’d be really p-o-ed if some hair spray media queen like curry came along and claimed to be the inventor of my shit.. curry is the al gore of podcasting, really what is he? he is not a programmer, he is not a good podcaster, he is just in the way, and has nothing of any value to offer, except that he was once a VJ.. sorry if you don’t agree..

Madge, or whatever your name is, there’s nothing wrong with making a penny from your work at podcasting, but it shouldn’t get in the way of others who aren’t acting, someone using their real name, who is saying something that’s important to them, something that’s not just entertainment. We already have lots of entertainment.

I was fascinated by your podcast when I thought you were a 50-something transsexual, not an actor portraying one. That’s the difference. I hope this will become a medium, like blogging, where the individual can be heard. Like the guy said, so far most people seem to think podcasting is about Adam Curry’s hairspray. Yuck!

Maybe we can get on the high road, and when you get interviewed by ABC News (not too likely, eh) you might talk about yourself. How about that.

Or do a podcast without the bullshit? What do you think “Madge”? Any chance of doing a podcast using your real name? That would be interesting.

Madge honey, you do what you have to do. Everyone is entitled to say what they wanna say, including Dave Winer, and Adam C. Everyone’s getting WAY too uptight about all this. I love you hun, your fabulous, and everyone is for their own reasons. Seems like the fun is being sucked out of podcasts by silly immature bickering on a lot of peoples parts, everyone should just do their own shit, and not point fingers, its supposed to be FUN!! luv ya doll!!!!

Hey Madge. I think maybe Dave Winer is a bit insecure, that’s all. But I wouldn’t clench for too long waiting to make much money podcasting. It reminds me of when everybody thought they could make millions with websites. But prove me wrong.

Dave, just get over yourself and mind your own business. Yeast Radio is the most open, courageous, and hilarious podcast out there. And in all honsety I’ve never heard of you except through Madge’s show. So I find it a shame Madge cares about your comment so much.

I hope this will become a medium where entertaining individuals can be heard, like Madge. Who cares about that “let’s keep it real because i’m keeping it real” crap? The Coffeenotes targets a specific audience, maybe they get off on it, but to me it’s like taking valium.

All the worlds a stage, goddammit. I would invite Dave to consider that we are allways ourselves, whether we go by different names, are stoned or on acid, or playing a role in a movie.

In the end, Madge’s content is of such a superior level in both form and sustance, it has to be protected and supported. I thinnk it is a viable and worthy cause and that it will eventually have monetary support.

I’m just concerned about Chauncy’s bladder today.
